Last week Mr Burt came into the year 7 and 8 block to have a korereo to us about Technology in WW1. Here's a bit about what he talked to us about. Part 1

Technology in World War 1, was it Good or Bad? Mr Burt came in to talk to the year 7 and 8's about Technology in WW1. Mr Burt started by telling us a little bit about his grand father that was in the war. He told us some more about his background in the war and then he started talking to us about.... Dun da, Da!!! Technolgy, in WW1!

His first presentation was about bikes. No he didn't talk about motor bikes or BMX. He was talking about the first bikes like now but when they were plane, when they didn't have breaks and no gears. He told us that his grand father was one of the first bunch of people that were able to have one of those bikes. He then started to explain to us about the features of the bike. Then I thought, "The features of that bike? Why is he talking to us about that. There's nothing much to a bike!" Then literally just that second i thought that, he began to rattle of a few things of the bike that actually took me by surprise!
He said that the bikes back in those days didn't have breaks, so when you wanted to stop your bike you had to drag your feet to stop it. Here is a picture of the kind of bike he was talking about.
